Lorena ha dedicado su vida a la lucha revolucionaria del pueblo salvadoreño por construir una sociedad justa. Durante su gestion como diputada legislativa del FMLN durante casi una década y como presidenta de la Asamblea Legislativa de El Salvador en 2015-2016, lidero muchos esfuerzos para defender y avanzar los derechos de las mujeres y tmbien de la comunidad LGBT+.
Ahora el presidente Bukele y su partido han intensificado los ataques contra ella, utilizando su control del sistema judicial para llevar a cabo una persecucion politica en forma de un juicio injusto.
Dado al hecho de que el estado salvadoreno ya no existe garantice el debido proceso, Lorena y miles más corren el riesgo de un arresto injusto. ¡La solidaridad intrernacional es fundamental!

1. Al juez que preside el caso y a otros en la rama judicial de El Salvador a no actuar en sumisión a la agenda política del gobierno de Bukele.
2. Que se respeten y hagan valer los derechos al debido proceso de Lorena Peña protegidos constitucional e internacionalmente.
3. Que la fiscalía no actúe ilegalmente al abrir un proceso penal.
4. Que el gobierno salvadoreño cese sus tácticas de guerra contra Lorena Peña y otros opositores políticos.

Lorena Peña has dedicated her life to the revolutionary struggle of the Salvadoran people to build a just society. As an elected legislator with the FMLN for nearly a decade and later as President of El Salvador’s Legislative Assembly in 2015 - 2016, she played a leading role in defending and advancing women's and LGBT+ rights in national decision-making spaces
For her outspoken leadership on issues of social, economic and gender justice, Lorena has endured years of misogynistic and defamatory attacks as a high-ranking woman in Salvadoran politics.
President Bukele and his party have intensified the attacks against her, now using their control of the judicial system as a weapon of political persecution and subjecting her to an unjust trial.
Given that due process is no longer a protected right in El Salvador, Lorena and countless others face the danger of a grave miscarriage of justice. International solidarity is essential!

1. On the judge presiding over the case and others in El Salvador’s judiciary branch not to act in submission to the Bukele administration’s political agenda but to act in accordance with the law.
2. That Lorena Peña’s constitutionally and internationally protected rights to due process rights be respected and upheld.
3. On the prosecution to not act illegally by opening a criminal trial based on fabricated charges.
4. On the Salvadoran government to cease its lawfare tactics against Lorena Peña and other political opponents.
